The
old wives tale says if it rains on
Easter Sunday there will be rain for
seven Sundays. But what if it snows?
Let's hope the proverb applies only to
rain! This year Easter Sunday and April
Fools Day fell on the same day, which we
choose to believe gave Mother Nature a
brilliant opportunity to play a little
trick on all of us. And, the biggest
irony of all may be that in Lincoln and
Logan County at least the Sunday snow is
among the biggest snow we’ve had all
season.

On
Saturday morning temperatures were cold
and rain was spitting from time to time.
After careful consideration, the Lincoln
Park District decided to go on with
plans to hold their annual Easter Egg
Hunt outside on the driving range.
Temperatures were in the low to mid 40's
and kids were bundled up warmed and
prepared to get a little wet.
Thankfully by afternoon when the local
Salt Creek A.B.A.T.E hosted their annual
event at Kickapoo Creek Park,
temperatures had risen making a bit more
pleasant event.
Even though the weather was 'odd' the
kids who came out for both events had a
good time and really raked in the
treats!
