The
staff at Bonanza in Lincoln came
together for a Paint the Paper Pink
picture this past week, even as they
prepare to say goodbye to patrons, many
of whom have become close friends over
the years. It's not surprising that this
group would want to show their support
for those battling breast cancer and all
other cancers within our community. The
business has long been noted for its
support of community and love for the
people, hosting free lunches for first
responders on September 11th each year,
and free lunch for all veterans on
Veteran's Day. While the thought of
losing this wonderful family business
brings tears to our eyes, we wish Bret
Borst and his staff all the best in the
future!

When
a woman has cancer there are a lot of
worries and emotional challenges that
she faces including thoughts of losing
hair, losing weight, having skin damage
from radiation and more. Robin Barton of
Styles by Robin wants you all to know
that you are beautiful, no matter what
chapter of your battle you may be in
right now. We see your beauty exuding
from the inside out, and want you to see
that too!
Robin was one of the many local
businesses who donated items for the
Pink Pumpkin auction last week, another
testament that she loves and cares about
those who are battling breast cancer.
She and we hope you know that in our
eyes you will always be beautiful.

On
Saturday morning, 25 people and one very
friendly pooch came together for the
Lean On Me Survivor/Supporter Rally for
all those who are dealing with any type
of cancer in their lives. The rally,
organized by Lincoln Daily News intended
to bring together those who are
survivors, those battling, caregivers,
supporters, and the public, all in a
show of unity to let cancer victims know
that they are loved and have the support
and best wishes of the community.
