Wednesday students from Carroll Catholic
School were getting a head start on
their chalk art projects on the square
in Lincoln. Once again this year the
city of Lincoln and the Lincoln Park
District are hosting chalk art around
the square. Artists will be out today
working their artistic magic in front of
local businesses. The theme for the
artwork is Railer Pride to complement
the theme of this year's Lincoln
Community High School Homecoming. Look
for the completed artwork on Friday when
you come downtown for the homecoming
parade. The parade starts at 2:30 p.m.

Angie
Sandel stands front and center among the
charter members of the Faith Lutheran
Church in Lincoln. This past Sunday the
church hosted a large 50th anniversary
celebration. At the end of the day, the
charter members of the church who were
present for the event were asked for a
photo to commemorate the day. Angie is
the oldest, first-generation member of
the church. She was surrounded by other
charter members, who according to Gail
Apel Sasse were mostly second-generation
members, meaning they were children or
young adults when the church was formed
and moved their membership to Faith from
Zion Lutheran Church with their parents.
