Memorial Day Services on Monday, Sergeant Reilly
Gallagher was the keynote speaker for the day.
Her address to the community focused on putting
Memorial Day in its proper perspective as a time to
call to memory those who have sacrificed their lives
for the nation.

ham and bean lunch.

The Mt. Pulaski
American Legion hosted two ceremonies on Memorial
Day, the first at the Mt. Pulaski Cemetery and the
second at Steenbergen Cemetery outside of town.
In town, one of the
eye-catching features of the event was this hillside
of soldier posters that were installed for the event
by Mt. Pulaski High School students.

US storms
kill at least 21 across 4 states on Memorial Day weekend
Tornado-spawning thunderstorms that swept the Southern Plains and
the Ozark Mountains have killed at least 21 people across four U.S.
states as of Monday afternoon and wrecked hundreds of buildings, as
forecasters warned of more severe weather.
