Minnie Stock

Minnie K. Stock, 95, of Lincoln died at 2:10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

A graveside service officiated by Monsignor E. Edward Higgins will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lincoln.

There is no visitation.

Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Stock worked for Coe’s Bookstore in Springfield and later in the medical records department at Lincoln Developmental Center.

She was born Sept. 8, 1907, in Duquesne, Penn., to Michael and Antonina Lorys Stock.

Surviving are one sister, Stella Stock of Lincoln; two nieces; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Miss Stock was a member of Holy Family Church, Holy Family Society and the Daughters of Isabella.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Vernon Cooper

Vernon Cooper, 87, of Mount Pulaski died at 9:27 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Droegemueller officiating.

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Beason.

Mr. Cooper was a farmer.

He was born Oct. 22, 1915, at Beason to William David and Pearl Sylvia Green Cooper. He married Lucile Leimbach on Aug. 7, 1937, in Chestnut.

Surviving Mr. Cooper are his wife, of Mount Pulaski; two daughters, Pat (and John) Grathwohl of Mount Pulaski and Kay (and Larry) Cyrulik of Mount Pulaski; two sons, Lee (and Judy) Cooper of Mount Pulaski and Gary (and Pam) Cooper of Mount Pulaski; eight grandchildren, Jeff Cooper, Scott Cooper, Chad Cooper, Heth Cooper and Greg Grathwohl, all of Mount Pulaski, Todd Grathwohl of Lincoln, Kenda Buenrostro of Mexico and Kara Cyrulik of Springfield; four great-grandchildren; Jordan, Jansen and Olivia Cooper, all of Mount Pulaski, and Luis Felipe Buenrostro of Mexico; and one sister, Aileen Westen of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ila Westen.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Mount Pulaski, where he served as trustee for many years. He sang in the church choir and ushered for over 50 years. He was also on the board of the Logan County Farm Bureau.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the tuck-pointing fund at Zion Lutheran Church or to Zion Lutheran School, both in Mount Pulaski.
