Real estate taxes can be paid
on Saturday

[AUG. 14, 2003]  The Logan County treasurer's office in the Logan County Courthouse will be open Saturday, Aug. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to noon to receive tax payments. The drive-up window at the John Logan building will not be open.

The second installment of 2002 taxes, payable in 2003, will be due without a penalty on Sept. 3. A penalty of 1.5 percent will be charged on Sept. 4 on any unpaid second installment of taxes. A penalty of 4.5 percent will be charged on any unpaid first installment of real estate taxes.

Warning letters for any unpaid real estate taxes will be mailed Sept. 19, and certified letters will be mailed Sept. 29.

Publication of a list of any unpaid real estate taxes will be Oct. 7; judgment day will be Monday, Oct. 20; and the 2003 real estate tax sale will be Monday, Oct. 27, in the first floor courtroom of the Logan County Courthouse, beginning at 10 a.m. Any tax buyer must register with the Logan County treasurer's office at least 10 days prior to the tax sale.

The county treasurer's office will not accept personal checks for payment of real estate taxes after Sept. 27.
