[DEC. 3, 2003]  GALESBURG -- Lincoln College exploded for 49 second-half points to defeat Carl Sandburg 78-64 Tuesday night. The victory keeps the Lynx over the .500 mark with a 5-4 record, while Carl Sandburg drops to 0-10.

Lincoln College connected at a 68 percent clip from the field in the second half (17-of-25), including 5-of-7 from 3-point land. The hosts managed just 37 percent shooting in the second half, after taking a 35-29 halftime lead.

Four players reached double figures for Lincoln coach B.J. McCullum, with Tony Gulley netting 17 to lead the way. Rodney Williams connected for 16 points, while Rueben Trotter added 12 and Michael Henderson 10. Courtney Williams scored 21 points to lead the Carl Sandburg attack.

The Lynx had a 38-27 rebounding edge and 13 assists, with Jason Moore leading the way with five. Lincoln College finished the game shooting 57 percent, while Carl Sandburg shot 39 percent.
