The new
Illinois attorney general, Lisa Madigan, has issued a stop-sales
order for all but the safest fireworks. The restrictions were
ordered as the result of pending court cases in two Illinois
counties. A Kane County judge contacted the
attorney general's office with the recommendation toward the
injunction based on the case State Fire Marshal v. Four Seasons
International.
You can
still purchase snappers, party poppers, toy smoke devices, snakes,
glow works, wire sticks and sparklers from the local vendors and
other sources.
