"We are relieved for Leon that he won't
have to go through reconstructive surgery on his knee," Johnson
said. "He's still going to miss a couple of games, but we are being
told that he should be back for the end of the season."
Kittrell injured his knee in the 16-7
loss to No. 15 Northern Iowa at Hancock Stadium on Saturday. He will
likely miss two weeks and could be back for the Redbirds' game at
Youngstown State.
Kittrell
played in all six games and started the first three for the 'Birds
at cornerback. He has eight tackles on the season, with two tackles
for loss and a pair of pass breakups. Kittrell recovered a fumble
Saturday against UNI prior to the injury.
