Glass recycling collection

DETAILS: (See article.) Only container (food, beverage) glass will be accepted. Clear glass, as well as amber, green and blue, will be accepted. Unacceptable items include ceramics, dishware, light bulbs, fluorescent lights, window glass and mirrors. Glass will be accepted only on designated collection dates. The Logan County Joint Solid Waste Agency does not accept glass at any of its recycling sites.
Glass preparation: Rinse containers thoroughly. Remove any metal or plastic rings from containers. Labels may be left on containers. Collection will be canceled in case of inclement weather. For safety reasons, no broken glass will be accepted.

Accepting at no charge: stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, water heaters, barbecue grills (no propane tanks accepted), bicycles, aluminum doors, windows and siding -- remove all broken glass. Also accepting automotive items, including engines, radiators and transmissions. A $5 fee will be charged for each of the following items to defray the cost of recapturing refrigerant gases: freezers, refrigerators, dehumidifiers and air conditioners. Fees will be collected at the time of disposal. Senior citizens and handicapped individuals living within the city limits of Lincoln may be eligible to have items picked up curbside.
