State Rep. Bill Mitchell holds a petition in favor of repealing the state's income tax increase. Mitchell visited communities in his district yesterday to drive home the point that the income tax increase will hurt Illinois in gaining and retaining businesses.

It "sewer" smelled bad on Broadway Street.

State Bank windows were protected with plywood yesterday as a crew worked to repair a broken sewer line. Further repairs to the line will be made today, weather permitting.
