Friday afternoon's Lady Topper game at Redbird Arena in Bloomington-Normal was a thrill ride for fans. As the team played against an equally matched team of Cowden-Herrick, it was a hard battle beginning to end. In the end, however, the Lady Toppers came out on top and the fan section exploded with excitement.  The Toppers will play today for their first-ever chance at a state championship.

Coach Eric Leever: "We have nothing to hang our heads about."  His comment, made at the end of the first half, reflects what we all feel. Though the team was slightly behind at that time, they came back full of fight and gave it their all.  While the scoreboard reflects they were nine points short of a victory, our scoreboard says they are winners all the way. The team took Mount Pulaski girls basketball where it has never been before, and we couldn't be prouder! Final score: Aquin 55, Mount Pulaski 46
