The upstairs courtroom in Mount Pulaski is looking very festive these days as the Mount Pulaski Courthouse Foundation is hosting a special fundraiser. A Festival of Trees at the historic courthouse features 30 uniquely decorated trees that will be auctioned off by local auctioneer Mike Maske in December. This is just one of several wonderful Christmas activities going on in Mount Pulaski this year, so be sure to check them all out.

Members of the LCHS speech team broke into finals in three categories Saturday at Normal West. Madison Bishop and Matthew Langdon won in humorous duet interpretation; sophomores Jazzy Morecraft and Carrissa Richmond placed third with their junior varsity dramatic duet acting; senior Bradley Miller placed sixth in junior varsity radio speaking; senior Justin Broom was a finalist in varsity radio speaking; and sophomore Zac McCray placed second in junior varsity radio speaking.

In this Nov. 29, 2007, file photo, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre (4) is tackled by Dallas Cowboys cornerback Nathan Jones (33) in the second quarter of an NFL football game in Irving, Texas. Favre injured his arm as he fell to the turf and left the game. He was replaced by Aaron Rodgers because of the injuries to his elbow and shoulder.
