EMERGENCY NOTICE FOR ALL LINCOLN RESIDENTS

ISSUED AT 5:40 A.M.  THURSDAY, JUNE 28TH

This is an important message from Illinois American Water. Due to treatment plant maintenance a boil order is being issued. You reside in the affected area. Customers in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses.

This boil water order is being issued in accordance with Illinois EPA regulations. Anytime water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in any part of a community’s distribution system, a boil order must be issued as a precaution to protect customers. This boil water order is expected to be in effect for approximately 36 hours.

Calling all kids and pet parents! Once again this year the Lincoln Park District and the city of Lincoln Fire Department are partnering to offer some great fun on Wednesday, July 4th. The day will begin at 10 a.m. with registration for the Children's Walking Parade. The parade permits kids to dress in their best patriotic interpretation, decorate bikes, and wagons and come out to Scully Park for the beginning of the parade. Also, skateboards and rollerblades will also be permitted in the parade.

Dogs, on leash, are also welcome and they too can "dress up" for the Fourth!

After the judging at 10:30 a.m. the parade will proceed to the Lincoln Park District Recreational Center, where prizes will be awarded and the Lincoln Fire Department will have one of their big fire trucks set up to hose everyone down!

Later there will be fun and games with prizes at the LPD Aquatic Center and fireworks in the evening! So don't leave town this Fourth of July! There will lots of fun right here!
