EMERGENCY NOTICE FOR ALL LINCOLN RESIDENTS

ISSUED AT 5:40 A.M.  THURSDAY, JUNE 28TH

This is an important message from Illinois American Water. Due to treatment plant maintenance a boil order is being issued. You reside in the affected area. Customers in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses.

This boil water order is being issued in accordance with Illinois EPA regulations. Anytime water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in any part of a community’s distribution system, a boil order must be issued as a precaution to protect customers. This boil water order is expected to be in effect for approximately 36 hours.

It has long been said that the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. On Saturday in Atlanta, both little boys and big boys, and the girls too, had the opportunity to enjoy toys that were just their size. On the lawn at the Atlanta Library was an array of pedal and battery operated riding toys, while along the streets and in a nearby parking lot were a large selection of "big toys." Girls enjoy the hot cars, trucks, tractors, and combines just as much as the guys do, but for those who like the quieter side of life, the day also offered great events like face painting and a balloon sculptor, as well as some neat fundraisers going on at the library.
