EMERGENCY NOTICE FOR ALL LINCOLN RESIDENTS

ISSUED AT 5:40 A.M.  THURSDAY, JUNE 28TH

This is an important message from Illinois American Water. Due to treatment plant maintenance a boil order is being issued. You reside in the affected area. Customers in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses.

This boil water order is being issued in accordance with Illinois EPA regulations. Anytime water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in any part of a community’s distribution system, a boil order must be issued as a precaution to protect customers. This boil water order is expected to be in effect for approximately 36 hours.

06/29/2018 FRIDAY - The boil order should be lifted by 6p.m. this evening. We have received no further information from Illinois American Water.

06/29/2018 - Boil order was lifted at approximately 2 p.m. today.

On Thursday evening at the June meeting of the Logan County Tourism Bureau, Director Cris Wibben announced she would be leaving the agency in July. Wibben has taken a position with Cresco Labs. The board went into executive session to discuss the future of the director position and will be making an announcement in the near future.

From LDN archives - Wibben addresses the crowd last Sunday evening at the relighting of the Tropics sign.         (Click on image for larger version)

The event will take place on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of J.H. Hawes Grain Elevator Museum in Atlanta.
