'Hawaiian/Battle of the Sexes'     Send a link to a friend

[AUG. 20, 2003]  Lincoln College is setting the stage for the start of another school year with the orientation theme "Hawaiian/Battle of the Sexes," which will welcome new students Aug. 24-27. The first day of fall semester classes is Wednesday, Aug. 27.

According to Jeff Nelson, co-chair of orientation and director of residential life, there will be sessions for both parents and students to help them become familiar with faculty, staff and resident directors. In addition, students will fill out paperwork, deal with financial aid and discover where to go for help during the academic year.

"Orientation is something Lincoln College always targets to help students feel welcomed and have fun when they first get here," said Nelson. "It gets them oriented with campus and what we're about and what's going to happen during the school year, plus freshman get a chance to meet new people."

The orientation co-chair and director of student activities, John Stoltzenburg, thinks this year's orientation will provide a fun experience for all. "I am very excited to be working with such a bright and energetic group of advisers," said Stoltzenburg. "They will represent Lincoln College well and have a positive impact on the registration experiences of our new students. We hope everyone will start their Lincoln College experience with memories that will last a lifetime."
