Fifth in the series,
the ornament in 24-karat gold over brass is enclosed in a black
velvet presentation case with the city seal embossed in gold on the
cover. The limited edition ornaments will include a numbered
certificate of authenticity, the story of the christening event and
a miniature version of the proclamation signed by Mayor Beth Davis
naming it the official city ornament. The cost of each ornament is
$15.
As a special
recognition of the city's sesquicentennial, the Main Street board of
directors has chosen to include a 2003 ornament as a thank-you gift
for every business partnership of $125 or personal partnership of
$50 received during the 2003 fund-raising campaign. "The generosity
of the city's merchants and citizens for Main Street Lincoln has
been overwhelming. The board wanted to take this opportunity to
acknowledge this continuing support," said David Lanterman, board
president.
Ornaments may be
purchased at the Main Street Lincoln office, second floor of Union
Planters Bank, 303 S. Kickapoo; phone (217) 732-2929.
Ornaments will be sold on a first come,
first- served basis.
