Hoops tournament
free to public tomorrow

[JUNE 20, 2003]  The community is invited to a street hoops festival tomorrow (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Free activities will be at Latham Park, across from the Lincoln Public Library.

Free registration for the basketball tournament is at the park today (Friday) from 4 to 6 p.m. All players and teams must register. Age categories for the teams are 12 and under, 13 to 15, 16 to 18, and 19 and over. Winners will receive prizes and trophies.

Besides the basketball on Saturday, there will be games for kids and free treats: snow cones, cotton candy and popcorn.

A service of praise and worship will include something for everyone, with rappers, a mime team, Rock-n-Roll Jesus Kids and a free puppet show. Jessie R. Bates will be the speaker.

The event is sponsored by Ambassadors for Christ Ministries, Crossroads Team Ministry, and local churches and businesses.
