Charles Tate
Charles B. "Charlie" Tate, 80, of
Washington died Friday (June 20, 2003) at 10:04 p.m. at Methodist
Medical Center in Peoria.
His funeral will be at 8 p.m. Monday at
Mason-White Funeral Home, 20 Valley Forge Road in Washington. The
Rev. Alice Gwin will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.
at the funeral home.
Cremation rites will be accorded after
the service, and burial of ashes will be at Camp Butler National
Cemetery in Springfield on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Military rites will be
conducted at the funeral home service and the gravesite.
Mr. Tate was an electrical engineer and
had worked for WMBD in Peoria for 47 years before he retired in
1995.
A veteran of World War II, he had
served in the Marine Corps as an airborne radar technician.
He was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Galatia
to Randle G. and Recie Karnes Tate. He married Agnes Aileen Last on
Sept. 2, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She died Jan. 16,
2002, in Morton.
Surviving are three daughters, Joy (and
Greg) Sayles of Bettendorf, Iowa, Jean (and Eugene) Hill of Mobile,
Ala., and Carol (and Don) Nichting of Pekin; four grandchildren,
Lora and Marcia Sayles, Pam (and Bill) Hecht and Gail Nichting; one
brother, Norman Tate of Galatia; and one sister, Lorene Tate of
Galatia.
He was also preceded in death by one
sister.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran
Church in Washington and the church Men's Group, International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, American Association of
Engineering and was a life member of American Legion Post 100 in
Washington.
He attended Wright College, Valparaiso
Tech, Utah State Agricultural School and the Naval Air Tech Center.

Bob
Davison
Bob Davison, 71,
died recently (June 12, 2003, at 12:06 p.m.) at his home in Bascom,
Fla. Committal of ashes
will be at an 11 a.m. service Wednesday at Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
Roger James and Ken Davison will officiate. Military and Masonic
rites will be conducted at the graveside.
Holland and Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling local arrangements.
Mr. Davison retired
from Caterpillar in Peoria after 34 years and was a truck driver for
14 years.
He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II.
He was born Oct. 6,
1929, in Oakley to Walter Grant and Nettie Banister Davison. He
married Clara Rickard on June 2, 1950, in Petersburg.
Survivors are his
wife, of Bascom, Fla.; one son, Phillippe I. Davison of Altha, Fla.;
one daughter, Angelique Stevenson of Mason City; eight
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter
Davison of Green Valley, Kenneth Davison of Middletown and Edwin A.
Davison of Lincoln; and one sister, Lois J. Boyer of Lincoln.
He was of the
Methodist faith.
He was a member of American Legion Post
672, Masonic Lodge 653 of Greenview, the VFW post of Creve Coeur and
the Moose Lodge of Marianna, Fla.

Maxine List
Maxine Elliot List,
82, of Mason City died Friday (June 20, 2003) at 12:55 a.m. at
BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal
Visitation was Sunday
evening and her funeral was Monday morning at Hurley Funeral Home in
Mason City. Tim Lindsay officiated at the service.
Burial is in
Mason City Cemetery.
Mrs. List was a
homemaker and was employed at the Stetson Glass Factory and Lincoln
Developmental Center.
She was born June 21,
1920, in Mason City to Henry and Bessie Holt Hodshire. She married
Archie W. List on June 1, 1940, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died in 1993.
Survivors are one
son, Albert (and Marilyn) List of Marysville, Ohio; one daughter,
Shirley (and Tom) Boward of Downs; eight grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded
in death by four brothers, three sisters and one daughter, Betty Ann
Smiley.
She was a member of
Easton United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to
Mason City Area Nursing Home.
John Edwards
John Edwards, 42, of Lincoln died
Thursday (June 19, 2003) at 7:15 a.m. at his home.
A memorial service will be scheduled.

Meese
John C. Meese
Jr., 76, of Lincoln died earlier this month (June 6, 2003, at 5:30
a.m.) at Veterans Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind., and was cremated. A
graveside service and military rites were on Monday morning at Zion
Cemetery, Lincoln.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln handled
arrangements.
Mr. Meese retired
from Laborer's Union Local 703.
He was a U.S. Air
Force veteran of World War II.
He was born Nov. 19,
1926, in Tamaroa to John C. and Mary D. Davis Meese Sr. He married
Delphine L. Marshalek on May 30, 1964, in Benton. She died Dec. 28,
1998.
Surviving are two
daughters, Phyllis (and Ted) Lamers of Olathe, Kan., and Patricia
(and Jerry) Lover of Adrian, Mich.; three grandchildren and two
stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy
Cummins of Paducah, Ky.
He was also preceded
in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Hospital of Danville, Ill., or Indianapolis, Ind.
