Bronco tournament

[JUNE 23, 2003]  A Lincoln Bronco team of all-stars competed in the Mount Pulaski invitational tournament over the weekend and finished in third place. Lincoln lost its first two games -- to Mason City, 14-9, and Petersburg, 10-0 -- before getting its act together in winning the final two games of the tournament, 10-5 and 22-8, over Mount Pulaski. 

Bryce Hunsley led the charge at the plate, with seven singles in 10 at-bats. Others with multiple hits on the weekend were Ethan Tabor with five hits, including two doubles and two singles; Matt Leslie with five hits, including a double; Blair Bruns with four hits, including two doubles; Ben Potratz with three hits, including a double; Tyson Smith with three hits; Danny Harman with two hits, including a triple; and Cody McCray with two hits.

Hunsley got the victory on the mound in the third game, while Tad Juilfs was the winning pitcher in the fourth game. Turning in solid relief pitching performances for the Lincoln team were Kody Swarts, Jon Oliver and John White.
