Lincoln College rallied in the second
half to defeat Carl Sandburg 58-48 at Lincoln College Tuesday
night. The victory gives the Lynx a 1-2 record entering the Rend
Lake Classic Friday and Saturday.
Carl Sandburg built a 27-21 halftime
lead before the Lynx rallied in the second half behind Reuben
Trotter, who tallied 12 points. Jeff Carlson scored nine of his 11
points in the second half, and the Lynx limited Carl Sandburg to
just 21 second-half points with good defense.
Trotter finished with 16 points to lead
the Lynx as 10 players cracked the scoring column for coach B.J.
McCullum. Brant topped Carl Sandburg with 11 points.

Women
The Lincoln College women's basketball
team was unable to handle Carl Sandburg in action here Tuesday night
as the visitors posted a 73-60 victory.
Lincoln College held an 18-16 lead at
the halfway point of the first half; however, Carl Sandburg
outscored the Lynx 18-7 over the final 10 minutes to take control of
the game.
Cook led the winners with 19 points,
while Kanisha Pettis and Eric Ernst each had 10 to lead the Lady
Lynx. Neither team shot free throws very well, as Lincoln College
made just 16 of 27 while Carl Sandburg shot just over 50 percent
with 15 of 29.
Lincoln
College (1-1) will play in the Kaskaskia Classic Nov. 8 against
Southwestern Illinois.
