Before
a packed crowd in the fine arts exhibition hall on Tuesday evening, Crystal
Quint, Lincoln, was crowned the new Miss Logan County Fair 2013 and Celia
Cross, Emden, was chosen as the new Little Miss. The threat of more rain forced
the pageant, normally a grandstand event, to the Lincoln Stage on Tuesday
evening. While the temps were cool, the close confines and lights added enough
heat to ward off any chill.

In
this July 9 file photo, the church in the town of San Damian Texoloc,
Mexico, stands near the Popocatepetl volcano, which is spewing ash and vapor. Mexico's disaster
prevention center says Popocatepetl has been active for at least 500,000 years.
The biggest dangers for those nearby are mudslides and swift-moving clouds of
gas.
