Although it seems that it rains every day in Logan County, in the Lincoln area accumulations have not been all that great compared to what has gone on to our north and south. However, as those rains work their way into public waterways, places like Salt Creek are rising. High water can be fun for boaters, but it can also be very dangerous. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) encourages boaters to stay off the water when levels rise.

With ground already saturated, any heavy rain can result in flash flooding of roadways. Do not enter fast or unknown depth water and use caution driving in rural areas. Also consult the National Weather Service maps for current warning areas before travel. http://www.weather.gov/ilx/

Following the Community Meeting that the Lincoln Elks Lodge #914 held on Wednesday, June 10, the Elks was pleased to donate $2,000 to Boy Scout Troop 111. The boys scouts have a trip to Florida planned, and with this donation they will be able to pay for their transportation. Elks Exalted Ruler Chase Lowery is shown presenting Boy Scout Troop 111 with the donation.
