At
the Monday evening meeting of the Lincoln City
Council, three young artists were recognized for
their talents as the winning competitors of the
city's annual Arbor Day Poster Contest. First place
- Cadin Frawley, a student at Carroll Catholic
School. Second Place - Calvin Aukamp, also from
Carroll Catholic. Third place - Laren Tedrick, a
student at Chester-East Lincoln. The contest was
open to all second-graders in Lincoln with 140
participating. The winning students each received a
medal plus a selection of gift certificates from
some of their favorite fast food places in Lincoln.
The awards were presented by Walt Landers, who is
the head of the city's Forestry Department along
with being the city's street superintendent.
