Each
year city of Lincoln department heads and chiefs, and assistant
heads or chiefs are appointed by the sitting mayor to fill a
12-month term. The appointments are among the first order of
business in the new fiscal year that starts May 1st. This year, the
first appointment was that of the new Lincoln Fire Chief Bob
Dunovsky on Monday, May 6th. That same night promotions within the
fire department were announced and firefighters sworn into their new
roles.
On Monday, May 20th, Street Superintendent Walt Landers, Building
and Safety Officer Wes Woodhall and Assistant Police Chief Matt
Vlahovich were sworn in, with Assistant Building and Safety Officer
Corey Ingram taken care of later in the week at her office. And, on
June 3rd, Lincoln Police Chief Paul Adams, who had been unavailable
for the prior ceremony was sworn in, rounding out the appointments
for the 2019-20 fiscal year in Lincoln.
