									On
Thursday morning there was a tree-planting
ceremony hosted at the city of Lincoln
Municipal Services Building in honor of
Arbor Day, which is today (Friday, April
29th), The city of Lincoln has been
recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a
Tree City USA for the past 21 years. The
designation verifies that the city has a
forestry department and maintains a tree
									planting and replacement schedule.
The tree planted on Thursday is a red Maple
that will have beautiful fall color. Street
Superintendent and head of the city's
									forestry department, Walt Landers, was
joined by Lincoln Alderwoman Wanda Lee
Rohlfs in placing ceremonial shovels of soil
around the tree, while other city and street
									department staff watched.
