Karen E. Laine is known
by many for the home improvement renovation television
show she shares with her daughter Mina on HGTV. However,
locally, many know her as the warm hearted, generous
woman who two years ago spent a week in Lincoln working
with a crew of teenage girls on home improvement
projects during Workcamp for Lincoln.
Last weekend, Laine returned to Logan County for a
visit. She spoke to a small group at the Lincoln
Heritage Museum on Saturday, September 16th, then the
following day addressed the attendees at a 2024 Workcamp
for Lincoln kidk off meeting hosted by Todd Henry.
On Saturday the topic as introduced by LHM Director and
Curator Ron Keller, was “Character by Design.” At the
end of the day, Laine was gifted with a small replica of
the statue that holds a premium spot just outside the
museum in Lincoln.
