Kloe Froebe on
Thursday morning learned that she had been selected
as the 2023-24 Gatorade Illinois Girls Basketball
Player of the Year. As such, she achieves another
milestone for Lincoln Community High School as the
first athlete to be recognized for this prestigious
award.

It’s that time of
year again.
On Wednesday evening
members of Boy Scout Troop 1102 met at the Lincoln
IGA for rub night. This is the first preparation for
the annual Boy Scout BBQ that will be held this
Sunday. The pork is rubbed down with spices by these
guys, then smoked “low and slow.” The Sunday meal
will include pulled smoked pork, baked beans, potato
salad, cole slaw and dessert. A hot dog meal will
also be available for youngsters.
The serving starts at 10:30 a.m. and concludes at 2
p.m. at the Lincoln Knights of Columbus. Meals will
be offered dine-in or carry out.
