Toppers top state in second place second year running    

[NOV. 17, 2003]  The Mount Pulaski High School girls have once again claimed second in the volleyball Class A state championship. Wheaton St. Francis edged the Toppers for first following a 25-19, 25-20 decision. 

The Toppers earned their place following play against Central Catholic Saints in semifinals Saturday afternoon at Redbird Arena. Mount Pulaski advanced to the final championship match with a 25-21, 25-17 victory.

This gives the Toppers their fourth second-place state title.
