Men

Aaron Williams led a balanced Lincoln College attack to an 87-73 victory over Kaskaskia at Lincoln Saturday afternoon, raising the Lincoln record to 4-2 for the season. The loss drops Kaskaskia to 2-5.

Williams tossed in 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-7 from 3-point land. Joining the freshman point guard in double figures were Michael Henderson with 14, Rodney Williams with 12 and Jason Moore with 10.

Troy Jenkins led Kaskaskia and all scorers with 27 points.

Lincoln College raced to a 40-29 halftime lead, connecting on 16 of 32 field goal attempts. The visitors were able to make just eight of 23 shots the first half. The Lynx finished the game shooting 53 percent from the floor (33-62), while Kaskaskia shot 43 percent (26-60).

Henderson and Rueben Trotter each pulled down seven rebounds to help Lincoln record a 39-32 edge on the boards. Williams and Moore each had five assists to aid the Lynx cause.

Women

CANTON -- Shawnee used a strong second half to pull away from Lincoln College to record a 66-55 victory in the Spoon River Classic here Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the LC record to 3-5 for the season.

The Lady Lynx were within two points, 24-22, at the half; however, they were unable to gain control in the second half. The game stayed close until the final three minutes, when Shawnee pulled away with free throws. The winners connected on 25 of 30 attempts at the line.

Erica Ernst led the Lincoln College attack with 19 points, 14 coming in the second half. Nicole Dearing added double figures with 15, and Nicole White chipped in with 11. VanDyke led the Shawnee attack with 20 points, and she was joined in double figures by Jennings with 13.

Lincoln College (55) -- Leach 0-0-0, White 3-3-11, Ingram 0-0-0, Spears 1-1-3, Dearing 7-0-15, Coronel 0-3-3, Ernst 7-5-19, Rucks 0-2-2. Totals: 18-14-55. Three-point goals: White 2, Dearing.
