"This was a great win for us as
they beat us last week in their gym," said Lincoln coach Mark
Tippett. "We showed a great deal of improvement in all areas. Rosie
was outstanding with her serve today. She and Kristin (Majka) really
made it tough on BHE by moving the ball around and taking them out
of their offense."
Kaskaskia Community College
then defeated Lincoln by scores of 36-34, 22-30, 30-20, 25-30,
15-10. Kaskaskia had defeated Black Hawk East earlier by scores of
30-27, 30-26, 30-28.
"The KCC match was frustrating,
as we let big leads slip away late in two of the games we lost,"
Tippett said. "This was a match we should have won. I am hoping the
girls will learn from this and put teams away when we have a chance
and not let ourselves get too tight when a team starts coming back.

"Despite the loss, I was
pleased with our effort. We are definitely developing better team
chemistry and showing that we have what it takes to be competitive."
Miller finished the day with 40
points, five aces and eight digs, while Majka recorded 24 points,
seven aces and 31 kills. Samantha McCoy contributed 19 points and 10
digs, while Jessica Livezey had 16 points and 11 kills. Maggie
Noldan had a total of 65 set assists and 10 points for the Lynx.
Lincoln College, 2-7 on the season, will be at Lewis and Clark for a
match Monday.
