-- A reliable source reported a lockdown at Illini Central
School. The circumstances are unknown at this time. Police and emergency officials are on the scene, as well as a
reporter from Lincoln Daily News.
Update 3:43 p.m.
-- According to Illinois State Police trooper N.L. Baker,
school officials reported that there was a weapon on campus. Precautionary measures were taken and the school was put on
lockdown. There was no one hurt; all are safe. Students were
being accounted for and then would be released. Students are now
going home. The Mason County Sheriff's Department is the primary
agency. Illinois State Police, SWAT and investigative teams
were also called to assist.
Rate
these statements about downtown Lincoln on a
scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being "strongly
disagree" and 5 being "strongly agree."
That is what one workshop session was asked to
do this week as the downtown revitalization
group worked with downtown businesses and city
officials to determine what is needed to make
the city a better place to work and shop.
When the results were revealed at a public
meeting Tuesday night, no one was surprised that
ease of parking rated so low, but some were
surprised that it rated that high. LDN
will have more coverage of the Tuesday evening
public meeting on this subject in tomorrow's
edition.
