LDN -- Top Stories

Wednesday morning the sanctuary at Lincoln Christian Church was nearly full with students from three Logan County high schools. It was the annual Workforce Readiness Expo put on by the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce. Students spent the morning hearing from speakers and panels with topics designed specifically to better inform them on their college education and ultimate career choices as they prepare for higher education.

Spring is upon us and people are starting to get out and about to do those things they couldn't do during the winter. Last week LDN staff caught sight of work going on at Elkhart Grain. A response to a quick note to Janice Funk at the elevator revealed that the company is building a new metal grain bin to replace the old concrete bin that ruptured last fall, spilling out many bushels of corn.

LDN - Entertainment

Teresa Heidbreder, of Middletown, was recognized last week as the first DAISY Award recipient in Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital history. The award is part of the national DAISY Foundation's program to recognize the superhuman efforts nurses perform every day. Heidbreder is a registered nurse on the ALMH Acute Care Unit.
