On  Saturday, based on the crowds, the best place to be for a hot, freshly made breakfast must have been Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln. The doors opened at 7 a.m. and serving began right away. Guests continued to arrive, all enjoying a great meal until approximately 1 p.m. Throughout most of the morning the school gymnasium was filled with folks enjoying the food and taking an opportunity to do something as a family, or drop in with the hopes of connecting with friends and neighbors for a nice long chat.

Last week the Habitat for Humanity of Logan County recognized Steve Allen for his dedication to the Habitat Program. Allen is the director of the Logan County Housing Authority and has been instrumental in helping Housing Authority residents in transitioning into home ownership. Allen works with and supports the Habitat program, recognizing it as a valuable tool to homeownership for those who might not otherwise be able to accomplish this type of milestone in their lives.

A plaque was presented to Allen by Habitat President Cince Bowns. His name has also been added to another plaque hanging in the Habitat office that lists all the annual volunteer recognitions of past years.

Senior Dalton Litterly literally goes flying thru the lane to score late in the fourth quarter on Senior Night Friday night at the Ed Butkovich Gymnasium at Mount Pulaski High School. Despite a tremendous effort by the Toppers, Springfield Lutheran came out on top 53-42.
