The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Bingo
Join us Thursday at 1 p.m. for the
monthly bingo sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension
service. There will be nutritious prizes for you.
Alzheimer
support group
The Alzheimer support group chaired by
a facilitator from Maple Ridge Care Centre will meet Thursday at 1
p.m. If you or someone you know needs more information or support,
join us. No reservation is necessary.
Oasis
board of directors meeting
The Oasis board meeting scheduled for 5
p.m. Thursday is open to the public.
To schedule agenda items for the next
meeting, on Sept. 18, the board must receive notification in writing
on or before Sept. 5.
Memories
class
The Memories class will meet from 3:45
to 5 p.m. on Friday. No reservation is necessary to join this
spontaneous group and learn how to hone writing skills needed to
preserve memories for family and friends.

food distribution
Food orders will be available for
pickup on Friday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. If you have not participated in
the Self-Help and Resources Exchange, stop in for information about
this minimal-cost food program sponsored by the Diocese of Peoria.

night games canceled
The regularly scheduled Friday night
games have been canceled for Aug. 22 only. Join the group on Sunday,
Aug. 24, at 6 p.m.
Veterans
Administration
The Veterans Administration
representative will be available Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to
noon only. No appointment is necessary.
Tuesday
lunch
Hamburgers and potato salad will be
featured at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 26 for only $3.50. Pick up your ticket
by noon on Monday, Aug. 25.
Think
Tank
Jim Hoffert will be the featured
speaker discussing "Home Safety for Seniors." Join the group on
Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 9 a.m. No reservation is necessary.
Game
winners
Esther Will was the lucky pinochle
winner Friday night, Aug. 8. Betty Burger and Ann Greger won 5 in 1.
Alice Thornton won pool honors. During the week the pinochle winners
were Iona Fulscher and Alice Thornton.
