To mark the 25th year of
basketball in Bloomington-Normal during the holidays, the Classic
Tournament Inc., which organizes and conducts the State Farm Holiday
Classic, is inviting fans to vote for the tournament's all-quarter
century team.
A list of outstanding
performers appears at www.theclassic.org. Fans are invited to vote for their top six
players. Voting will continue until the end of the tournament, and
the All-Quarter Century Holiday Classic Team will be announced after
the Class AA championship game on Dec. 30.
"For a quarter century, the
classic has been a showcase of great talent and unbelievable boys
basketball," said Dave Oloffson, tournament vice-president. "We
wanted to do something special to recognize this fact and celebrate
25 fantastic years. By voting for their favorite players, we are
trying to create something fun for our fans to help decide just who
was the best to play in our tournament."
