MIDLAND CITY -- Joseph D.
Coleman, 44, of Midland City died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at
10:06 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the
funeral home.
Burial will be in McClimans
Cemetery, Hallsville.
Mr. Coleman was the lead
carton scheduler for Saint-Gobain, the bottle factory in
Lincoln.
He was born Jan. 25, 1960, in
Lincoln to John F. and Joyce Hughes Coleman. He married Rita
Huffman on Aug. 25, 1984, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of
Midland City; three sons, Tristan Coleman, Jared Coleman and
Gabe Coleman, all of Midland City; his parents, of Lincoln;
one brother, Keith (and Ann) Coleman of Lincoln; and two
sisters, Jean Coleman of Lincoln and Jamie (and Tim) Brennan
of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by
one sister, Judy Schaub.

SPRINGFIELD -- Billie Joyce
Wood, 71, of Springfield, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at 8:15
a.m. at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Springfield.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m.
Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln,
with the Rev. John Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in New Union
Cemetery, Lincoln.
She retired as a ward clerk
from St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She had also worked
as a nurse's aide at Lincoln Developmental Center and Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln and at Vonderlieth Living
Center in Mount Pulaski.
She was born March 18, 1933,
in Lincoln to Harry J. and Dorcie Bowers Nelson. She married
Lloyd Eugene Wood at Oceanside, Calif., in September of 1952.
He preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons,
Michael Eugene (and Lorna) Wood of Lincoln, Harold Stanley
(and Janice) Wood of Mount Pulaski and Richard Keith (and
Lisa) Wood of Athens; two daughters, Vicki (and Terry) McCain
of Mount Pulaski and Mary Margaret (and Jeffrey) Romans of
Springfield, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren;
and many friends at Park Towers Apartments.
She was also preceded in death
by one sister, Naomi Johnson.
She was of the Christian
faith.

BLOOMINGTON -- Helen Gayle
Bauman, 78, a 1944 graduate of Lincoln High School and
resident of Bloomington, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at her
daughter's home in Cooksville after a battle with cancer.
Her body was cremated, and a
memorial service is planned for Mother's Day.
Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home is
in charge of arrangements.
Helen spent most of her life
raising and caring for her nine children and in the real
estate profession. In her later years, she was a caretaker of
the elderly and friends.
She was born Sept. 22, 1926,
in Lincoln to Robert and Mary Fiztmaurice Gayle. She married
Maurice Bauman on April 20, 1949, in Champaign.
Survivors include her
children, Kathryn Bauman (and Doug Hackett) of Gainesville,
Fla.; Mary Frank of Fletcher, N.C.; Anabel Bauman of
Stillwater, Okla., Carol (and Earl) Johnson of Stillwater,
Okla., Matthew Bauman of Cooksville; Martha Bauman (and Keith
Smith) of Cooksville, Andrew (and Michele) Bauman of Leesburg,
Va., and Chuck Bauman of Stillwater, Okla.; four
grandchildren, Robert and Benjamin of Stillwater, Okla., and
Darya and Roman Bauman of Leesburg, Va.; one brother, James
(and Mary Redus) Gayle of Camarillo, Calif.; and one sister,
Mary Roberta Applington of LaSalle.
She was preceded in death by
one brother, William Gayle, and her eldest son, Michael
Bauman.
Her beauty, intellect, courage
and her loving heart will be sorely missed by all who knew
her.
