afternoon as they learned the park district won
a $25,000 grant for new playground equipment. Members
of the community turned out to
celebrate the grant that was awarded by State
Farm Insurance, thanks to the efforts of
everyone in the community who voted for Atlanta
in a Facebook contest.

Railroad crews have been very visible in Lincoln
and Logan County this week. This group was working its way through town
Thursday afternoon. The Illinois Department
of Transportation announced early this year that over 100,000
of the concrete railroad ties installed last
year had not met their specifications. Friday afternoon, crews
could be seen replacing ties in the Lawndale
area.

the New York Times best-seller hardcover fiction list at No. 2
for the week of June 24 and earning a top-10 spot on Amazon's
