Tuesday evening prior to their city council meeting, Lincoln aldermen and other members of city government took a tour of the Depot. The Depot is now officially the property of the city of Lincoln. During the tour, Mayor Keith Snyder shared that Illinois Department of Transportation architects had been in town examining the building in preparation for its restoration.

The Relay for Life thermometer located on the northeast corner of the Logan County Courthouse lawn shows the local efforts have brought in $27,000 to date. This year the Logan County Relay for Life has set a goal of $71,000. The teams who are participating in the Rrelay will continue their fundraising through the end of July. According to Tonita Reifsteck, publicity chair for this years event, there are three new teams this year making for a total of 22 that will participate in the all night relay event taking place July 25 and 26.

Enola Becker of Mason City proved she is the most skilled and aggressive sitter at the Arlee Theater’s Save Our Seats musical chairs Sit-Off tournament held last Saturday. Her victory was most fitting, as several years ago long before the S.O.S. Campaign began, she recognized the need and donated money toward new seats for the Arlee, becoming the Arlee’s first seat sponsor.
