This week work began at the Lincoln Park District on the new Aquatic Center. The first step was to demolish the old pool. Wednesday morning amidst the debris, one sizeable chunk of concrete tickled the funny bone as it stated the obvious; “no diving.”

The Logan County community is gearing up for one very busy weekend. Friday, the Route 66 Garage Sales will begin. The sales run throughout the weekend. On Saturday the Illinois Route 66 Association is going to be in town for their annual visit and banquet. Also on Saturday will be the Atlanta Ribs and Rides Car Show and Barbecue. Also, on the calendar is a golf scramble to benefit the Center for Youth and Family Solutions, the Hartsburg Fire Department fundraiser dinner, the American Legion will host a flag burning ceremony on Flag Day, and Sunday will be the first LAMS Concert in the Park. Better take a nap today, and get rested up so you can enjoy everything this great community has to offer this weekend.

Members of the Aqua Lynx Swim Club	Club Record Breakers	Club swim Coaches

The Lincoln Aqua Lynx Swim Club recently held their annual awards banquet. In the course of the evening, awards were handed out to several young swimmers for excelling in certain events in the age class. The group also said good-bye to one of their favorite coaches, and happily welcomed two new coaches to the team.
