In creating artwork for the Abstract Expressions exhibit poster, Cody Sparks was inspired by Picasso, but used the magic of computer-generated art to produce this colorful composition. Other work by Sparks, as well as by 14 other local artists will be on view at the Lincoln Art Institute from August 13 to September 20, 2015.

Jacquiline Martincic, daughter of Rhea and Larry Martincic of Lincoln, was the recipient of a $1,000 Nurses Scholarship awarded at the Department Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary in July. She will be a sophomore at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana this fall, will be a small group leader for a freshman girl’s floor and will be working in the Religious Studies Department.

Jacquiline was sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #263 in Lincoln. This is Jacquiline’s second year of receiving a Nurses Scholarship.
