On Monday, former city of Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder learned that to be compliant with his new state appointment he needed to resign his mayoral position, effective immediately. Monday night, City Clerk Susan Gehlbach opened the meeting of the city council. City Administrator Clay Johnson explained the steps the council should take immediately. Alderman Todd Mourning nominated and the eight members of the council approved appointing Alderwoman Marty Neitzel as a Temporary Chairperson for the Council. At the end of the night, the Council went into executive session to begin a discussion on the selection of an interim mayor that will serve out Snyder's remaining two years.

The Mount Pulaski Grade School has selected its Students of the Month for February. They are sixth-grader Alexia Davis, daughter of Karyl Davis of Elkhart; seventh-grader Victoria Hernandez, daughter of Rafeal Hernandez and Megan Burge of Mount Pulaski; and eighth-grader Emily Siebert, daughter of Rob and Jill Siebert of Mount Pulaski.

The Mount Pulaski 8th grade Honeybears volleyball team defeated Christ the King Monday night 25-23 and 25-20 to win the sectional and advance to the state tournament. Mount Pulaski will play Saturday at 2:15 in the IESA Class
8-2A State Tournament in Auburn.
