Thursday
was another big day at the Lincoln Depot. It was
moving day for the first Pullman car. The goal was
to get the car out of town and headed toward the
Chicago area where it will be restored to its former
glory. The route to get the car out of town was a
challenge, but with a skilled semi-driver, the
cooperation of local law enforcement, the city of
Lincoln Fire Department and Street Department, and
several citizens who had to rush to move cars out of
the way at key points. The rail car made its way out
of town without incident.
