the Tuesday night meeting of the Logan County Board,
local veteran's salute the American flag as local
vocal artist Lesleigh Bennett sings the National
Anthem. The veterans were present to support the
vote by the county regarding the establishment of a
local Veteran's Commission in Logan County. A
representative of Tim Butler’s office also sent the
Illinois Representative’s best regards for Logan
County, now identified as a Purple Heart County for
its measures to assist veterans.

The entrance to Denisova Cave in the Altai Mountains in southern
Siberia near the Russia-Mongolia border where the remains of a
female Neanderthal were found is shown in this 2011 photo
