Lincoln community Thanksgiving Eve service

[NOV. 24, 2003]  The community Thanksgiving Eve worship service, sponsored by the Lincoln Area Ministerial Alliance, will be Wednesday (Nov. 26) at 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1409 Pulaski St. Along with a community choir, various clergy serving local congregations will participate in the service. Chaplain Henry Johnson from the Logan Correctional Center will be the guest speaker.

The offering will go toward the Lincoln Transient Assistance Fund, which is used to help stranded travelers with lodging and food. This much-needed ministry is primarily administered by the local police department.

Dec. 7, 7 p.m. -- Choir Christmas cantata entitled "The Christmas Promise." The public is invited. A reception in the parish hall will follow the cantata.

Dec. 14 -- Sunday school Christmas program during the 9 a.m. worship service.
