[OCT. 3, 2003]  SPRINGFIELD -- Lincoln College and Springfield College battled to a 1-1 tie in women's soccer action here Thursday afternoon. The tie gives the Lynx a 0-6-1 record for the season.

Springfield College scored the first goal of the game at the 33rd minute on a goal by Bethany Catherwood, who redirected a free kick past goalie Courtney Baumann.

At the 15-minute mark of the second half, Samantha Marcus tied the game with an assist from Elise Sommerfeld. Baumann recorded seven saves in goal for the Lynx.

Coach Aaron Paskavan said, "We had some great chances in the second half and overtime. We just need to stay composed when we are one-on-one with the goalkeeper."

Lincoln College will host Illinois Central College in their next action Oct. 8.
