Edwards finished with 183 yards
on 33 carries and two touchdowns to lead the Redbirds. Edwards'
first touchdown of seven yards gave the 'Birds an 18-0 lead in the
second quarter, while his second of nine yards held off the Penguin
rally. He also added a 64-yard scamper late in the fourth quarter to
seal the win.
Edwards and the Redbirds return
to action on Saturday, when Illinois State hosts Western Illinois on
Saturday at Hancock Stadium at 1:30 p.m.
