The
storms that passed through Lincoln early Tuesday
morning left about 350 households without power for
a period. Part of the reason for this was downed
trees and broken power lines. By mid-morning crews
were out repairing power poles such as these located
in an alley between 5th and 6th Streets on the
city's west part of town.

With
his history of falling over in a wind storm, some in the community may have had
some concern for our 16th president perched atop the world's largest covered
wagon this morning. But when we went to check, Abe was sitting pretty, reading
his law book. When the wagon was repaired earlier this year after tipping over
in a wind storm, it was recommended it be placed at a different angle in order
to help it withstand high winds. It appears that following that advice was a
wise decision on the part of the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County.
