While the Logan County Fair
“officially” starts today, on Monday the 4-H general
projects judging was underway in the exhibit barns
across from the grandstand at the Logan County Fair.
Enjoying their last two days as local royalty, the
Logan County Fair Queens, Miss Ellyn Martinez,
Junior Miss Ellie Wrage, and Little Miss Kodi
Eigenbrod were busy networking in the exhibit barns.
They enjoyed visiting with exhibitors and parents
and were available for photo ops at a moment’s
notice.
There will be a ribbon cutting this morning, Tuesday
July 30th, at 9 a.m., weather permitting at the west
gate of the fairground. If the weather does not
cooperate the cut will more than likely be moved to
the Lincoln Stage barn.
Tonight the queens will relinquish their thrones to
three new inductees at the Logan County Fair Queen
Pageant. That pageant is expected to be held in the
north end livestock show barn due to the condition
of the racetrack.

The Route 66 Cruise-in in Atlanta
had a special guest on Sunday afternoon. “Bandit”
from Smokey and the Bandit was on the scene with his
classic black Camaro. Kirk Whittenburg from Delevan
was decked out to resemble the start of that movie,
Burt Reynolds.
Lincoln Fire Chief Ty Johnson was at the show and
couldn’t resist admiring the car and complementing
Whittenburg on his car and costume.

edition of Lincoln Daily News.
